About the event
HISTORY OF GRESLEY
Gresley Old Hall dates back to 1664 and a grade II listed building, with most of it now derelict. Home to poltergeist activity and dark shadows. Gresley Old Hall, Swadlincote, Derbyshire is said to have been built using the stone from the old priory ( 1556 ). A large family home now used as a minors welfare. The house oozes with history and home to some gruesome tails of people who lost their lives. Lost souls of abused and abandoned children and the maid who burnt to death in her room after her dress caught fire. This room has since been bricked up. The upstairs room are bare and dark, and still signs of Victorian graffiti.
PARANORMAL ACTIVITY
Gresley has a number of ghosts and spirits that like to make themselves known. Old Roger Gresley, the tall Gentleman who does not take kindly to the goading from some investigators - don't get on the wrong side. He has been known to throw tables during vigils. People have reported seeing the maid and children that died during the fire - often with the children looking for their "Mummy" or hiding in the cupboard. Knocks, bangs, footsteps, smoke, smells, are all part of what Gresley has to offer.
